Fri, January 13, 2006 - 11:29 AMBunion Causes
A bunion, also known as a hallux valgus, is a bony protrusion of the great toe joint that can cause friction and pain when wearing shoes. A bunion causes your big toe to look misshapen and protrude from the side of your foot. Also, if you have a buniotte, a bunion causes your fifth (or baby) toe to look misshapen.
In addition to aesthetics, a bunion causes pain, usually in the form of swelling, redness or pain of the joint at the base of the big toe.
If a bunion causes severe discomfort, a surgical procedure called a bunionectomy may be necessary.
What Causes a Bunion?
Bunions form due to a variety of factors, including:
An active lifestyle.
Improperly fitting shoes: A bunion causes pain when walking, or form initially, if your shoes don’t have enough room in the toe box.
Foot type: A foot that pronates, or rolls inward excessively when walking, has a higher tendency for causing a bunion. Other symptoms of bunion pain include swelling, redness or pain of the joint at the base of the big toe.
Sooo.....
Taking into account, what causes a bunion, you could use this information to create bunions all over your body if you want.
An active life style, well live it up, and wear tight fitting clothes while doing it, causing excessive rubbing and friction.
Hey, this might even be enjoyable....ahhhhh...I see why you want bunions all over.
Let me know when the bunions have harvested. We'll have a pic nic.
A bunionectomy pic nic! -
